OUR FAMILY STORY
Once upon a time, in a lively household filled with love and laughter, our family story unfolded. We were a big family, with a twist of fate that surprised everyone. You see, our parents had an old-fashioned notion of wanting more boys than girls. But after ten attempts, guess what? They ended up with ten amazing girls instead!
Our mother, a beautiful mix of Thai and Chinese heritage, embraced her role as the heart and soul of our family. According to tradition, she was tasked with cooking for all ten of us, which wasn't an easy feat, let me tell you! But you know what? We all chipped in and learned how to cook delicious Thai food for our incredible mom.
Our roots were firmly planted in the charming city of Korat, also known as Nakhon Ratchasima, a three-hour drive northeast of Bangkok. But as fate would have it, our family decided to chase a new life and adventure. So, in the early 1980s, we packed up our memories and recipes, and made our way to the sun-kissed paradise of Phuket.
In Phuket, we brought our mother's cooking style and cherished recipes to life at our cozy, coastal eatery named Ab Zab. A touch of magic dwelled here — a place where the flavors of our childhood danced on your taste buds, and happiness filled the air. Ab Zab quickly became a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike, a place where we shared our heritage through the art of cooking.
And oh, let me tell you about P Noy, the original Head Chef of Ab Zab. She has charm and exceptional talent in the kitchen which earned her a special place in our hearts. Now, she stands as the proud co-owner and Head Chef of the lovely Thai Family Sisters Restaurant in beautiful Upland, California.
